Blanket Drive

Please call me at 250-649-0771 if you have extra blankets, sleeping bags or pillows that I can drop off at shelters in Prince George.

There are hundreds of people in Prince George who have no home, and many who may have some kind of shelter, but not enough warmth.

I will be designating one day a week that I can be home to receive donations, or go out to pick them up if you are unable to bring them to me.

The following shelters and organizations will be receiving your donations:

St. Vincent De Paul Society
AWAC (Advocates for Women and Children)
ASAP (Active Support Against Poverty)
Elizabeth Fry Society
Pheonix Transition Society
Native Friendship Housing Society

X Marks the...

Election day is fast approaching, are you ready to vote? Come out this Thursday for an informal informational session with your favourite political junkie, Sarah Waters. Or she should be, if she's not. Just saying.

Party platforms and campaign promises by each of the major parties will be addressed in an entirely objective manner, so of course it will be an evening of EXCITEMENT, HILARITY and SCANDAL!

If you're not sure who to vote for, why you need to vote or what this all is about something called democracy, come out on Thursday. If you don't learn anything, it'll at least make for a good story.

Are you ready to vote on October 14?

Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Berets Optional

Hello everyone!
SATS is starting up again this year and our first gathering is going to be wonderful. We're holding a poetry night at Art Space (above Books & Co. on 3rd Avenue) on Saturday, October 4th at 7:30pm and we would love for you to come! If you express yourself creatively through poetry and would like to read some of your creations, that would be lovely. Just contact us through the blog, our email, or our Facebook group. We look forward to seeing you all there in black turtle necks.

SATS will be taking a break for the summer. We have a lot of great ideas for the autumn season, including movie nights and a poetry event. Stay tuned...
